Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

1. Me:A fairly new fanfic writer who hopes to be a real writer one day, am a graphic designer by trade, and fell in love with Smallville a few months after running into Tom Welling at my local Rite Aid--used to live in Los Angeles, currently living in MD making my mother's life a little easier:)

2. Likes: LOVES Clark, and the Clark and Lex dynamic. I've always loved good boys and heroes. I ship no one, my thought being that if Clark can't be with me, who do I care who he dates, lol. I think he should date many before he finds his true love (even a cute black [among other thing] girl who just got a saucy hair cut). Love good fiction, fan or literature. Good film, Art and good music, any genre. I love skilled based reality shows on Bravo (Top Chef, Project Runway) and Smallville is pretty much the only tv show I watch, aside from CSI

3. Dislikes: Ok, I have to say it, I officially dont like Lana, and I hate character bashing, so I'm keeping my comments to a minimum. I don't like meaness, or pettiness.

4. What got you interested in Smallville? Tom Welling---Ok, well I met him, promised to watch the show, but it was summer, and I just didn't. Then I happened to be at the Grove in LA when they premiered Exile on a big screen and all I saw was this amazing looking show, that could have easily been a movie, and that same beautiful man I saw in Rite Aid...the rest is history. Though I;ve liked Superman and what he represents since I was a kid.

5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Anything character driven and focusing on Clark, this past season, Hidden, Splinter and the 100th were my favorite eps, I loved Mortal too..in the past eps like Transference and Rosetta, Exile, Crusade, and Unsafe come to mind.

6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?: I don;t think I;ve ever re-read a fanfic, theres so much out there, and theres so much I still haven't read, except maybe the first one I ever read by Dana called 'As the Day the Night"

7. Random facts: I'm a self-proclaimed "foodie" and I miss all the wonderful restaurants and good food in NY, and when I go to Paris, all I ever think about is where I'm going to eat, thank goodness I'm more about quality than quantity, or my jeans wouldn't fit, lol.. I have two incredible cats, one is a bengal and is facinating since his behavior really resembles an actual leopard. I met Michael Rosenbaum and didn't realize it until I'd been watching SV for 3 months.

You met them both before seeing their show? Hilarious. And TW was in the drug store and begging random people to watch? Oh, ha. If it was early on that explains it more.

I'm in MD too! We do have good restaurants, at least, here near DC we do, and some in Baltimore. Not sure where you are.

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, no he wasn't begging, he was buying hair products. My friend--an actress, or so she says, went to talk to him, and I didn't know who he was, but goddam he was gorgeous! And I think because I was staring, and maybe starting to drool, he asked if I watched the show, and I said "No, but I will now!" ...yes, I did want to crawl away after that statement, lol
And I met Michael on the set of Sorority Boys, my friend was working on the set, and I came to visit, I stood talking to the 3 leads while they waited for a van to pick them up, they were filming some sporting event at a high school..I didn't see the film. That is weird though huh? lol I started watching SV in season 3..I met Tom that April or May, 03, I think he was filming CBTD then

Baltimore does a couple of good restuarants..I'm north of Baltimore in White Marsh, but I know the area around DC well too:)

Okay, that all makes sense. Meeting them sounds fun.

I don't know much about White Marsh area. My sister's living in Baltimore now, though.

Cool stories on how you met the boys of SV!

Ah, and you mentioned Bravo. I love that channel. We stopped getting it over a year ago. I miss it :(

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Bravo is the bomb, and I can't believe I got hooked on a chef show, you can't even taste the food! but I did..and now its over..*waits patiently for Project Runway to start*..and thanks:) meeting the boys was fun, even if I didn't fully appreciate it at the time, lol.

after running into Tom Welling at my local Rite Aid
No WAAAY!

if Clark can't be with me, who do I care who he dates, lol
Hee! That's a nice (and different) take on shipping. In a fandom full of crazy shippers, I take my (nonexistent) hat off to you! ;)

theres so much I still haven't read
Oh, me too! I'm not sure I'll ever get through it. On LJ, I spend most of my time commenting or posting, so it's hard to get the reading time. And I'm an obsessive book reader, so again, that competes with fanfic reading time.

when I go to Paris, all I ever think about is where I'm going to eat
Heh, yes! Me too, but with the parameters of exchange rates weighing me down... *curses Aussie dollar*

one is a bengal
Wow! Fascinating! They're really intense, right? Is it a high maintainance relationship?

I met Michael Rosenbaum and didn't realize it until I'd been watching SV for 3 months
Oh, do tell!

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:54 am (UTC)(link)

It boggles the mind how much is out there, and how much of it is really good!
It definitely inspired me to start writing. This is random, I'm re-reading 'Atlas Shrugged" and I just found out Brad Pitt is in talks to star in a film adaption. I love Bradley, but I'm not sure he's John Galt. (if no one has read this book, I highly recommend it, for the style of writing alone)

I met Michael Rosenbaum and didn't realize it until I'd been watching SV for 3 months - Oh, do tell!
LOL, I think I answered it somewhere in here, but I met him on the set of Sorority Boys, and I'd never seen Smallville, so when the AD told me Smallville's Lex Luthor was in the movie all I thought was "who?" and I thought they'd mad Lex a high school bully or something on the show(!)...but when I was watching an ep 3 months into Season 3, it suddenly dawned on me that the funny, very wacky (in a dry way) person I talked to wearing a weird red wig and fake boobs during that summer was none other than Lex! I had completely forgotten about visiting the set..LOL..I laughed for like 5 minutes.

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Wow! That's a great story. And it blows my mind that you met Michael in that get-up!

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh and I forgot to mention, my bengal (who's name is Shuster) is a bit intense, but sweet as can be. He loves to climb and is scary smart, which only means he gets into everything and has me scratching my head wondering how he does all the things he manages to do, lol. My other cat, Clive, is a breeder accident, half marble bengal and half russian blue. Here's a picture of the two of them a few weeks after Shuster's arrival http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/MELANIEMM/SHUSTER/restingkitties.jpg

Hee, you've got an awesome reason to watch! I'm so jealous of you :D

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
lol, thanks:) I'm beyond grateful thats my reason for watching:D

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, you met TW? AND MR? Can I touch you?

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
*holds out arm* LOL. My only regret is I hadn't seen the show yet, so I couldn't appreciate it in full fan girl mode..but then again, maybe thats a good thing:)

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
That's probably true. I once made a complete ass out of myself when I met someone who went to grad school with David Duchovny, so god knows what I would do if I ever met an actual celebrity who I liked!

[identity profile] althea-astrea.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I don't like Lana either.

Wich CSI?
I'm crazy about Las Vegas. Greg is the best thing ever!

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
The one the only the original Vegas CSI:) I watch it twice a day on Spike and go "ewwww!!" about every 5 minutes, lol

I am so jealous, I could die! And bravo to you, even being able to form words when you met Tom. I think I might have just stood there, mouth hanging open, drool running down my chin. And then, MR on top of that (heh), and you are the luckiest person EVER.

I LOVE CLARK! I'm so happy when I run into another Clark lover. And a foodie, too! YAY! Is it cool if I friend you?

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Of course! friend away, I need as many Clark lovers around as I can get:)

Mel, I loved to know more about you! I have two cats too (and one dog). And you actually met Tom! I think Chelly mentioned it once, but to read it from you! My heart beats faster now.

Loved everything you said!

Wow. You met Tom Welling? That's awesome. You lucky girl.
