Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

Helo! *waves*

1. Me:
I make manips and attempt writing fic, but mostly I am somwhat of a semi-lurker, very infrequently updating my journal, even though I have been more or less active in fandom for two years now. I blame the fact that I don't have all that much spare time. I'm from Sweden. I'm 28 and live with my boyfriend of nearly 11 years. Yes, we are high school sweethearts.

2. Likes:
First of all I would like to mention that I like porny fic.
Characters: of course I like Lex, and even Clark in his less moronic moments and I *love* to hate Lionel. As for ships, I love Clex, Mionel has a certain appeal, and Lexana has kind of grown on me. But it will never, ever rival the glorious Clex.
Oh, oh! And I love and adore SV fandom for ever and ever. And porny fic, did I mention porny fic?

3. Dislikes:
Lana, even if she's more intertesting lately, Lois *blech* and Jonathan who was really narrowminded for a man who adopted an alien. I really dislikes Clana. The only way I can get behind Clana is if Lana is all dirtied down and you know *filthy* and kinky. Then it's good.

4. What got you interested in Smallville?
It was years ago. I was actually surfing around for Witchblade fic (remember Witchblade? Sara/Ian?) when I stumbled across seperis' website which is a veritable treasure room filled with fanfic in different fandoms. I read A Handful of Dust and was instantly hooked. I hadn't even watched the show at that time, but I figured I needed some visuals. The first ep I saw was Jitters, I believe, and boy-o-boy what visuals it provided. And here I am.

5. Favorite SV episodes?
Too many to list, but here's a few off the top of my mind; Red, Pilot, Shattered, Asylum & Memoria.

6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
Anything by Lenore or toomuchplor or seperis.

7. Random facts
My favorite food is food (except eggs, *urg* I hate eggs), which means I have a tendency to eat too much. Right now I'm on a diet, so my most frequently eaten food the last couple of weeks has been vegetable soup. Which is fine, since it's food, and therefore good.
The closest thing to a pet I have is my laptop, and her name is Simetra. I love her lots.

[livejournal.com profile] seperis is clearly the gateway drug to SV for many, many people.

Hey! A fellow egg hater! I have never in my life liked eggs, and people always think that is weird! And I do remember Witchblade--I hated when that show was cancelled.

I have to say, I'm always amazed at how international the SV love is. YAY! Fandom, spreading love among the nations.

All my friends and co-workers think the egg hating is the weirdest thing ever, and never pass up an oppertunity to mock me for it. Fortunately, my boyfriend also detestes eggs, or we would have had much more problems in the kitchen. We egg haters should stick together! *nods*

Definitely!!

I join you there! I'm on a post-holiday diet right now, and am big on vegie soup too! I'm also busy coming up with creative healthy snacks because I have the willpower of ... well, a hedonist, when it comes to food.

Oh, please share your results. I could use some tasty but healthy snacks, like all the time. *g*

Well, I finally succumbed to buying a calorie counter, and it has really helped, because the fat content of things is not always what you would expect. At the moment, it's winter here, so I'm craving lots of winter comfort foods--puddings and so on. So one of my favourite treats is draining a can of apricots and adding a teaspoon or so of brown sugar, some chopped up hazlenuts and some sultanas to them. If you stir it all around and let it sit a bit, then zap it in the microwave, it's really yummy and puddingy without being high fat! In summer, I love plain low fat yoghurt with frozen raspberries mixed through--they defreeze really quickly and add sweetness, or you can add a teenie bit of sugar without blowing the calorie count.

I just realized that I hate Lois, or SV Lois, with a fiery passion as well. Grr.

TPTB certainly don't make her seem that sympathetic. I get extremely irritated every time she opens her mouth.

When is it not about the porn? *g*

Hello, BTW. I'm friending you if it's OK.

Of course it's ok!!

I'm friending you back!!

Hiya! *waves back*

I can't stand eggs. In things, as an ingredient, fine. But not on their own. Very, very bad.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_sail_/ 2006-05-27 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! In pancakes or pastries and such it's fine, but as soon as I can identify it as egg, I can't eat it. Blech, eggs!

I'm with you on the Jonathan thing. I could handle it the first time around, but now I'm rewatching the whole series from start to finish and find myself yelling at him. I mean, mentally, cause of course I don't talk to the TV... *shifty eyes* Also, Lionel is awesome because of the hate for him.

As for the egg thing, I sometimes randomly crave eggs, but then I'll eat them and be like 'ew, I still hate these.' I don't know what's wrong with my craving system.

Anyway. Nice to met you! :) Mind if I friend you?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_sail_/ 2006-05-27 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
Nice to meet you too! Friending is fine! I'll friend you back.

And I never, ever talk to my TV either. Nope. Not at all.
