Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

1. Tell us something about yourself: Both my husband and I are natives of So. Calif. We've endured not only earthquakes, riots, mudslides, but getting rear-ended by Courtney Cox's husband, David Arquette, driving a purple '57 Chevy.

2. Likes: Michael Rosenbaum and the Clex. Slash and gen. TV-wise, I watch SV, Supernatural, Medium, Desperate Housewives, Numb3rs, CSI: NY, NCIS and Crossing Jordan. Old favorites: X-Files, ST:NG, KF:TLC, Mag7. My other major fandom love is The Sentinel, which is where I first started writing fanfic (under Autumn Skies) about six years ago.

3. Dislikes: Het, Clana, reality television and rudeness.

4. What got you interested in Smallville? Hubby got me to watch the SV pilot, and I've been hooked ever since. All the wonderful fanfic it generated didn't hurt either.

5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Prodigal, Jitters, Lineage, Ryan, Vortex, Phoenix, Shattered, Memoria, Transference, Hidden, Lexmas, Vessel.

6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? I usually click on Kat Reitz/Tzigane/Perryvic's site. Newest favorites are Vivian Darkbloom's Hinge Moment and Astolat's Ulterior Motives.

7. Random facts: I look after my elderly parents and in my copious spare time, I hand make Christmas cards for relatives and friends. My last rescue was an abandoned kitten, barely 2 months old. Cleaned him up, got his mange cured and he now lives with an exceptional person (I met courtesy of LJ) in No. Calif. Last I heard, he's about the size of a bobcat. *g* He was my sixth rescue. The first one still lives with us.

Wow! Rescue cats. *deep breath* I once tried to rescue a cat but it wasn't successful. At the time I joined a lot of rescue groups online and got heaps of advice, but perhaps he was just that bit TOO feral, because after catching him and trying to get him desexed (he flew up the vet's wall, lost control of his bowels, and generally went mad), he bit my boyfriend badly. We ended up turning him over to the vet. So I have much admiration for your successes! It was a heartbreaking thing to go through...

But hey! SV! *squees*

Yikes! Your poor boyfriend! I hear feral cat are very difficult to deal with. We were lucky that the kitten was so hungry. As soon as he realized he was going to get four meals a day, he became instantly cuddly. :) I cried, the day I turned him over to his new owner. Happily, she sends me updates and photos via LJ.

Thanks for friending me! I've friended you back, of course. *g*

Yes, we didn't realise at first how feral he was. He befriended my cat and would come and miaow at the window for him every day. When I realised he didn't belong to anyone, I thought it best to rescue him so I could get him fixed up by the vet--immunised and all.

That sounds lovely, getting updates by LJ! At least your kitten has a great new owner. *g*

I also hate reality TV! Really, really can't stand it.

And Vivian Darkbloom is great!

I totally agree. :)

What a cool party this is! Thanks for putting it all together!
