Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

after running into Tom Welling at my local Rite Aid
No WAAAY!

if Clark can't be with me, who do I care who he dates, lol
Hee! That's a nice (and different) take on shipping. In a fandom full of crazy shippers, I take my (nonexistent) hat off to you! ;)

theres so much I still haven't read
Oh, me too! I'm not sure I'll ever get through it. On LJ, I spend most of my time commenting or posting, so it's hard to get the reading time. And I'm an obsessive book reader, so again, that competes with fanfic reading time.

when I go to Paris, all I ever think about is where I'm going to eat
Heh, yes! Me too, but with the parameters of exchange rates weighing me down... *curses Aussie dollar*

one is a bengal
Wow! Fascinating! They're really intense, right? Is it a high maintainance relationship?

I met Michael Rosenbaum and didn't realize it until I'd been watching SV for 3 months
Oh, do tell!

Oh, dog jealousy! I live for the day I own a dog again. Currently I have a 'dog substitute', aka cat. Westies are gorgeous! And you have a red bug! How very adorable!

Three cons... is a lot! Hope you enjoy them (and report back)!

'Hey, Lex, let's pretend to be gay/married' fics

I *love* those kinds of fic! They're just so much fun!

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I aim to make my life completely frivolous.
And a very fine aim that is too, my dear! *g*

I also am not very fond of when people post IM conversations with lots of in-jokes.
Mm... me too. The definition of in-joke implies that it should stay 'in' and not be broadcast as a form of bragging.

I try to stick to whole-wheat bread for the most part, but sometimes I feed them french fries and Cheetos. *feels guilty*
Oh, you are so cute! You are worried about their nutrition! That sounds very lovely though.

Hee, you've got an awesome reason to watch! I'm so jealous of you :D

1. Tell us something about yourself:
I'm a 21, soon to be 22, Bussiness Administration student.
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
I love MR, so I'm crazy about Lex, Adam, Adina, Brandy and every other character he has ever played. But specially Lex. (you know, The Walk and The Lips) In genres, I'll read anything that has Lex in it. My tv shows are CSI Las Vegas, Bones, X-Files, Batman and Smallville (though, if I'm honest, I only watch SV for the Clex and... well, Lex. Brex is one of my kinks!
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
I don't like Lana, but I'll read Lexana. Jonathan Kent was on my wrong list for a long time.
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
A bald MR (fucking sexy)
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
Red, Hug, Zero
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
Mmm, depends in what mood I'm. But lately, [livejournal.com profile] herohunter's are my favorites.
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)
Mmm, let's see... I live in Chile, a long country in the end of America. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister (oh, yes, HUGE family). I wouldn't be caught dead wearing pink. I can't stand pink on me
I'm a member of MOVIL, a organization for gay rights in my country.

Whee! New person! Hello!

I'd rather listen to music than watch tv
Me too! And yes, I have very large DVD and book collections (books far exceeding dvds) too.

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
The first thing I do when I wake up is check LJ too! (And sometimes it eats away my whole day, like today!)

Why are you hiding from your cat?

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! I also like Michael Rosenbaum
good lord, that's an understatement!

[identity profile] althea-astrea.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you seem nice. I think I have see you arround somewhere.... *g*

Oh Viola, bless that girl. She's just fabulous. She needs to be on LJ.

I'm curious about this October 3rd thing. Any reason for it?

I used to wear 3 or 4 rings all the time. Then I was at a concert, and clapped too hard, and shattered one of them banging it against another. I don't think I've worn any of them since then! :P

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Clark in "Exile"--oh YES. Normally I'm more of a Lex than Clark girl, but you are *so* right about that shaggy hair.

And I love Conner so much I can hardly believe he's not canonical. (I mean, I know he's sort of borrowed from the DC universe, but I can't believe he's not canonical in SV).

[identity profile] althea-astrea.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
*waves* Hey, there, miss feedback! *g*

You know, I like Lionel too. Even though he's a bastard. I don't know. I have a thing for older men, it seems. Or is the Luthor thing...

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
there's also this work thing that kind of needs some attention
That's ok! Just let those of us that are ignoring our work come to you! *g*

A big ol' lit-geek, and having ongoing problems reconciling my literary snobbery with my overwhelming love for Smallville.
*glomps* OMG, me too! So much. But I mostly get by... sort of...

Oh, and our favourite eps are very similar--I love Lex-centric eps the best. I can't believe you've read the Identical series three times... in eight months? wow! And yes, Sleep while I drive is definitely a re-read of mine too.

It's such a fun song! Actually, I learned it when the German minister at my church was retiring - the choir sang it at his good bye party, complete with actions. I can't spell the words in German though, only phonetically. Mine hoot der hut drry ecken :D

Danke, that's a useful one. I can't figure out what Kuche is, though. Help me out?

Because he's evil and scary (and needs his nails trimmed).

No seriously, he's a danger to me. He decides he wants to sit on my lap, jumps up, and digs holes in my leg holding on! He's going to get trimmed up on Tuesday, so I just have to avoid bleeding to death until then ;)

Oh, yes, I also have the bottled water addiction. As well as the "stay up into the wee hours of the morning reading SV fiction" addiction.

I used to be much more intolerant of unbetaed fiction, but since I've started posting on livejournal a lot, there is almost *never* a post I make that doesn't have a typo, or grammatical error, or an unclosed parenthesis, or *something,* so my tolerance for errors by others has gone up a little.

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
avoid meta like the plague b/c seriously, it's all about the glee!
Dude. I am your nemesis! I'm all about the meta... ;) No, actually it's just all I can do. Personally I fangirl all the creative people crazily--iconmakers, ficwriters, vidmakers--because hey, fandom's really all about the squeeing and pretty!

I don't like posts where people spend 5000 words (three times a day) telling me what kind of coffee they drank in the morning.
How very honest of you! I agree--though if they can make it funny, actually funny, all is forgiven!

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Books were definitely my friends, they still are.
Ditto.

Good to get to know you a bit better! *g*

[identity profile] myownghost.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
me too -- i find lex vastly more interesting than clark. but oh, clark looks beautiful when on Red K!

i started reading Conflicts of Interest when it was partway done and breathlessly followed through Visiting Hours. she writes lex as cancer patient SO so well, and conner is a brilliant creation. Kon-El, in comics, am i right? but oh, what a wonderful kid. the final paragraphs of the last chapter reduce me to jelly, as does the scene where conner realizes he's one of several, the only one who survived, and lex tells him he'd have loved ALL of them. who wouldn't cry, reading that? oh, lex...

you know, though, she mentions the bondage gear in lex & clark's room, without explaining who uses it on whom. that has itched my imagination ever since. :D

[identity profile] althea-astrea.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty awesome and happy. Except when i'm mad, but i'm usually mad in such an adorable way that i'm still cute. I also think very highly of myself, but how could I not, yknow, with me being awesome and all.

I like you already!

Gilbert and Sullivan! Wheee! I played Buttercup twice in community shows. The first time, I was about 11 years old, and had *no* idea who she was. My parents thought it was hilarious when the told me, years later. :P

Tom Welling's half naked body should always advertise things. Even better, a completely naked one. *nods*

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
You should totally write and ask her about it!

Yeah, Kon-El in the comics, though I think they actually call him Conner, too.
