svlurker was asking for first and second season Buffy fic recs and I tracked a few down for her, and she was kind enough to offer to let me pick a prompt for her 69 love stories project in return. I picked "Come Back From San Francisco," which is a lovely melancholy tune, and she wrote an absolutely amazing Clex piece to go along with it here . Seriously, it's gorgeous and lyrical and melancholy-with-a-happyish ending, and has fantastic characterizations of Clark and Lex. And check out the song, too (the link is at the end of the story).
