I hope it won't be a biblical deluge
Dec. 9th, 2014 07:35 pmNormally I would be excited that we're getting more rain, considering the drought in California, but apparently we're supposed to get more rain tomorrow night than we've had in the past year? (5 inches, that is), along with 60 mph winds. I've already received 5 separate emails at work talking about emergency preparedness.
Generally I find these things overblown, but now I'm getting paranoid, since the last major storm we had about a month ago, which only had 30 or 40 mile an hour winds, knocked down a ton of huge branches from a neighbors' tree into my yard, as well as knocking down a giant tree about 3 blocks from my house and in the process destroying a pedestrian bridge. So here's hoping that no trees fall on my house, and that I don't get flooded. (I'd be more sanguine if they ever actually cleared the leaves off the street--I can tell drainage is going to be a problem). I almost always lose power at least temporarily in these storms, so I'm charging everything that is chargeable right now, but if I vanish from the interwebs for a while that is why.
