No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Oh, one of my most heartbreaking moments? Have you read rivkat's No Angel Came? It takes that moment and makes of it the work of art that it should be. That was one of MR's finest moments--as you say, in the midst of such a terrible ep.

Fandom intimidates me most times so I rarely comment.
I'm so glad you did here! It can definitely seem intimidating, but there are many friendly peeps out there, and we all started out that way...

Mmmm... seafood love! Me too. Once my workplace had their christmas do at a seafood restaurant with the most insanely stacked seafood platters--mountains of crustacean goodness! There was an embarrassing moment where everyone turned round from watching the hired entertainment (some lame magician) to look at me alone at the table scoffing... but seriously, who could turn that down?

And I totally sympathize with not wanting to see Lex go bad. (In my head, that's always just the prequel to the future fic where Clark redeems him, which is how I deal with it.)

And as far as I'm concerned, there can NEVER be too many "let's pretend to be gay"/"Let's pretend to be married" fics in this fandom.

I have no real interest in LOTR fandom except for Legolas/Gimli. They really are canon! I mean, they spent almost a lifetime traveling through Middle Earth together. Just...just... the books gave me most of the emotional satisfaction I could ever want for them. *g* (And the fic? Most of it is horrible but there's a few stories that are just mind-blowingly good. *g* Try this (http://www.trinityslash.com/tolkien/They_Say.html) -- very short, cool style, sort of whimsical. *g*)

Linguistics! Cool! I did some units in linguistics when I was getting my Diploma in Modern Languages, though mostly in French. And I'm an editor-geek, so still dabble with things linguistic.

Mashed potatoes (or 'tatties' in my family) are one of life's greatest things.

And I still remember my library-working days with great fondness... my casual work through school and uni days was largely in libraries.
