What would your krypto mutation be?
Mar. 9th, 2006 07:09 amSo last night, as I was trying to get to sleep early (since I had to get up at what for me is the crack of dawn for a 3 hour dentist appointment, woe is me) I was trying to think happy thoughts, as I often do. For me that often involves scenarios like "what if, instead of waking up to go to the dentist in the morning, I woke up and found myself in Smallville?"
Of course, usually these fantasies are rather pathetically Mary Sueish (even though I never have violet eyes in them, I promise), but last night I started wondering what would happen if the *real* me ended up in Smallville--and krypto mutation followed by early death is probably more likely than hot sex with Clark and Lex, alas.
So then I was trying to figure out, based on my high school self, what my krypto mutation would have been. Of course, sometimes on SV the mutations are just accidental, but a lot of times they seem to be wish fulfillment and/or an extension of the person's normal personality. So, given what a shy bookworm I was in high school, I decided that my krypto power would be: the ability to vanish into books. (In other words, enter fictional worlds completely. That would be kind of a cool power, I think). But like all krypto mutations, it would go bad: I would probably start accidentally or on purpose sucking other people into those fictional worlds with me. And I would die getting stuck in the fictional world, probably as a side effect of Clark, Lex or Chloe figuring out how to get the people I had inadvertantly trapped there out.
Anyone else want to play, so I have something to look forward to when I get back from the dentist? What would your krypto mutation be? How would it go bad? How would you die (or avoid death)?
