I know I haven't been posting about this, but seriously this season of Supergirl is SO good. I really feel like te move to the CW has just given them license to do great new things and steal some of the best parts of the Smallville formula as well (*cough* like slash with Luthors). ( Read more... )
It sounds like they're actually going to make a Peggy Carter TV Show starring Hayley Atwell!!!!
*Makes squeeing noise that can probably be heard in space*
And yes, I haven't been that impressed with AOS, but I don't even care. Hayley Atwell! Peggy Carter! Flaily hands!!!!!

At this quote from a Samuel Jackson interview about his role in Captain America 2 and other MARVEL things
"If that sounds a bit weighty, Jackson also said he’s willing to play it a little lighter if he ever gets a chance to participate in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.:
I keep talking to them about it. I keep saying, “If nothing else, let me be Charlie of Charlie’s Angels. Use my voice to send them off to do stuff sometimes.” Joss just looked at me like, “Hmmm. Maybe.”
DUDE. DUDE. I am practically HYPERVENTILATING at the thought that Samuel Jackson might appear on Agents of SHIELD, even in a voice cameo. OMG. That would be completely and totally AWESOMESAUCE and Joss damn well better let him, if he actually wants to!

recs of various sorts
Apr. 12th, 2007 03:08 pmYou know how
metafandom collects insightful and thought-provoking essays from all sorts of different fandoms? Sometimes I wish there was a companion community called "metasquee" (or maybe it should be panfandomsquee? Squeefandom?) pointing people to really fun squeeful discussions that they might enjoy even if it's not their fandom. Two examples of what I'm talking about:
pearl_o's post from a couple days ago which was the OFFICIAL POST IN WHICH TO DISCUSS HOW CKR [That's Callum Keith Rennie, aka Ray Kowalski on Due South and Leoben on Battlestar Galactica] (AND/OR CHARACTERS PLAYED BY CKR) NEED A GOOD FUCKING FROM A GIRL WITH A STRAP-ON AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY.. The post itself was made of win, but it was the discussions in the comments that reminded me exactly why I love being a fangirl.
liviapenn's post today about how Stephen King once started writing Peter Wimsey fanfic, which is fascinating in and of itself, but the discussion in the comments about how there absolutely ought to be AUs written in which Harriet is a vampire slayer has just kept me smiling all afternoon.
And in other news:
I am very excited that the voting for
harlequin_sv ends tonight, because I assume that means the authors will be revealed tomorrow. Besides, I've been wanting to rec some of those stories and have been waiting for the voting to be over so as not to bias the results.
But in the meantime, just in case anyone on my f-list hasn't already seen it,
mskatej has posted a new Clex story, Surveillance, which features slutty!Clark and voyeur!Lex, definitely two of my favorite versions of those characters. And it's by Kate--need I say more?
I also want to recommend a Clark/Lois story by
kdsch123, But Now for Real. It's very short, but emotionally intense: Lois comes face to face with some important truths about Clark.
